Our Trips
Embark on an unforgettable four-day loop through the heart of southern Vermont, starting and ending in the vibrant town of Rutland. Our journey kicks off heading southwest, winding through rolling countryside toward the scenic Delaware & Hudson Rail Trail near Poultney. From there, we ride east into Manchester Center, an ideal spot to refuel and soak in some small-town character. Next, the route takes us into the rugged beauty of the Green Mountain National Forest. On the final day, we make our way north as we close the loop and return to Rutland.
You can expect 4 days, 3 nights over 150 miles with 12000~ feet of climbing.
Get ready for a classic bikepacking overnight that includes not one, not two but THREE ferry rides. We’ll roll out from Burlington and head south through the picturesque towns of Shelburne and Charlotte before boarding our first ferry to Essex, New York. From Essex, we head north along the western shore of Lake Champlain to Ausable Point Campground, where we’ll spend the night surrounded by water, woods, and views of Vermont’s Green Mountains. On day two, we will head north to Plattsburgh, NY and catch our second ferry ride to Grand Isle, Vermont. We’ll ride down the peaceful western edge of the island before making our final ferry crossing on the Bike Ferry back to Burlington.
Note: A small donation helps keep the local bike ferry running—every bit helps keep this special route alive!
You can expect 2 days, 1 night with 90 miles and 4000~ feet of climbing.
Experience the beauty of Vermont as we traverse the state from east to west along the scenic Cross Vermont Trail. This route follows the flow of the Wells and Winooski Rivers, connecting a patchwork of local rail trails and quiet roads. We begin our ride on the New Hampshire border in Woodsville. Heading west, we pedal towards Groton, VT where we will rest for the first night of our journey. On day two, we continue westward through quaint villages and rolling terrain towards Richmond, Vermont. The last day takes us through the heart of the Green Mountains before we cruise into Burlington, finishing the ride at the edge of Lake Champlain. With scenic riverside riding, creemee stops, and classic Vermont hospitality, this ride is the perfect way to slow down and take in the Green Mountain State.
You can expect 3 days, 2 nights with a grand total of 90 miles and 4000~ feet of climbing.
